Hi, I’m Liz.
Honestly, I am so grateful that we are on this journey together. Welcome! I want to partner with you, and be there when you experience the highs and lows of coming into your best self – this is really just an honest expose on the fact that we are all just trying to do a little bit better. None of us have it together all the time, it’s a constant project.
About 6 or 7 years ago I almost started my own gym. I felt inspired, motivated, I had a friend who would be my partner. We had investors, a location, a plan and – we were pumped! Pre Launch my soon to be business partner looked at me and said, “You know, before we start we need to do some work. We do not look like weightlifters.” Honestly, I was floored and whether or not she truly meant it about herself didn’t matter. All I heard was “Liz, you do not look good enough to own a gym.”
Game over – that gym never opened. Some of you reading may even remember this part of my life, and never really knew what happened. For years, I blamed her for it not working. I passed the buck as much as I could to avoid taking responsibility for my own perceived failure. Even as I write it now it SOUNDS crazy! I didn’t open a gym, a place I was incredibly passionate about, because of the way someone else thought about my body.
It has taken me almost the entire last 5 years to grow up. To stop blaming someone else for me not taking action, to realize that I held myself back for fear or looking stupid or embarrassing myself, and that my own insecurity would be the limiting factor in how many people I could help, not whether or not I had a 6 pack.
Haven’t we all been there? Not doing something we want to, thinking it’s because some one else held us back?
Nope. Friends, we stand in our own way.
If “get your shit together” could be a tagline – that’s mine. I too have had to live the hard truth that I while I cannot control my circumstances, I can control my response. Action is that response. “Getting your shit together” is taking action. Saying you are no longer okay with accepting things happening to you, you are about to start happening on your own. I have had to learn the disciplines of taking care of my physical body (and I keep learning) and the biggest blessing is that it truly translates into every area of life.
Are strength training, nutrition, and mindset the MOST important things in life? Probably not, but they are a damn good measure of how enjoyable your life has the capacity to be, especially as we get older. It’s about pulling up your big girl (or boy) pants and doing some hard things. Making choices that educate and empower instead of belittle and limit us.
As we journey together you can expect to hear from me on all the things I wish someone had told me years ago.
Training advice to actually see changes and feel stronger and more fit.
Nutrition education so you can make your own informed choices about how you want to eat and feel.
Mindset and habit tracking staples that keep you consistent when motivation is is short supply
And a variety of other tips, tricks, and stories to help you get out of your own way, and own your strength.
I am here to partner with you, guide you, and celebrate you becoming the best, most badass version of yourself that you ever dreamed possible.
Let the Project begin my friends –
xoxo,
Liz
